QT group participates in the World Desalination Congress, Dubai 2019

From 20th to 24th October 2019, a delegation from the China Osmotic Membrane Industry Association (MIAC) was invited to Dubai, UAE, to participate in the 2019 World Desalination Congress organized by the International Desalination Association (IDA). The QT group was represented by its technical director Dr. Qiu Yunjun.

The World Desalination Congress is an internationally recognized event in the field of water desalination which has gained worldwide recognition. The conference was held at the Dubai World Trade Center, with the participation of more than 1,000 professionals in seawater desalination and wastewater treatment. As a Chinese branch of IDA, MIAC organized the "China Reach Out" special session with 6 reports and several interactive round tables led by Chinese experts. This was an opportunity for the international desalination community to get to know the history of the Chinese desalination industry, the laws in force as well as the state of current demand.

During the activities of "China Reach Out", Mr. Qiu Yunjun, technical director of the QT group, presented a report entitled "Cost-effective and practical installation of the QT desalination system" with as an example the last projects completed by QT on the Island from Sanya, Hainan province in China and the desalination station at the port of Nouadhibou in Mauritania. Mr. Qiu Yunjun also presented to the professionals present the advantages of fastRO® container type reverse osmosis systems developed by QT's research team and which are becoming an economical alternative for units weighing less than 2,000 tonnes/day.

Mr. Qiu Yunjun expressed that "After years of hard work, the complete set of Chinese technology of seawater desalination and wastewater treatment has reached an advanced level and a lot of Chinese technologies are widely used worldwide. The QT group is ready to share its know-how with its partners around the world, especially in Africa”.
